Summer 2025 Recap: A Season of Creativity and Growth

This summer was a remarkable journey filled with creativity, exploration, and community engagement through our Fearless Artists Kids Program and Junior Curators Program.

In partnership with the incredible Choo Smith Youth Empowerment Organization, we welcomed approximately 100 enthusiastic young artists for a 5-week enrichment experience held at Coppin State University in Baltimore, who embarked on an artistic adventure, guided by our dedicated team of mentors and instructors.

Fearless Artists Kids Program

In the Fearless Artists Kids Program, children aged 5-12 unleashed their creativity through various artistic mediums. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops that encouraged self-expression and imagination. From painting and collage to fabric art, our young artists explored their talents and discovered new passions.

Junior Curators Program:

The Junior Curators Program provided a unique opportunity for young aspiring curators ages 13-17, to dive into the world of art curation. With guidance from experienced mentors, participants learned about the art world, exhibition planning, and the importance of storytelling through art.

Each week featured themed workshops led by skilled instructors who inspired creativity and collaboration among participants.

Art Exhibitions: 

The summer culminated in a vibrant exhibition showcasing the children's artwork, allowing them to share their creations.

Participants collaborated on community art projects.

Young Curators Program Interns

This summer, in Washington DC, we also had the privilege of working with 10 talented interns ages 17-21, participating in The Fearless Artist Young Curators Program. These interns played a vital role in supporting our programs, gaining invaluable experience in arts education, event planning, and community outreach.

Intern highlights included:

Hands-On Experience: Interns assisted in organizing workshops, facilitating activities, and engaging with participants, gaining practical skills in program management.

Professional Development:

Through training sessions and mentorship, interns enhanced their knowledge of arts administration, marketing strategies, and educational practices.

Networking Opportunities:

Interns connected with professionals in the arts community, building relationships that will support their future endeavors.

Curatorial Workshops:

Participants engaged in workshops focused on curatorial practices, including concept development, exhibition layout, and artist interactions.

Field Trips:

The program included visits to DC’s Hirshhorn and Planet Word museums, offering students a firsthand look at professional curation in action and inspiring their own creative projects.
